Greetings, dear ones. I thought I should wrap things up and let you know that we did, in fact, come home. We aren’t still wandering about Japan, drinking beer and eating raw fish.
We came home to an early season heat wave and discovered that May was a nice combo of sun and rain. That meant that we almost needed a scythe to handle the lawn. We managed our jet lag by alternating gentle garden sessions with naps and I think we may be at the other side of it. The jet lag, not the gardening!
All in all, our trip went well. We saw the things we wanted to – and then some. The weather was co-operative. We had some rain, but mostly on travel days when we were on buses/trains/planes. It wasn’t too hot, which can be a thing.
When I write to you when I’m traveling it is easy for me to create little stories about what we are seeing/doing/eating/drinking. Once home, though, the urge to recap, to summarize, to give advice means I wind up trying to do a brain dump, which becomes too much and then I never publish.
So – rather than do that – again – I’ll keep this brief. If you have questions let me know – I’m always happy to talk about Japan.
And here’s a picture of the Skytree one cloudy night. Even though it is across the river from Asakusa, it pops into view often and the night time light show is always entertaining.
